Day 16. At Leh
Situated at an altitude of 3368m is a very historical
town. It was the converging point of the famous
silk routes for trade between Afghanistan, Central
Asia China & India As a result it boasts
of a healthy mix of Buddhists, Muslims and Christian
inhabitants who live in complete harmony with
one another. The River Indus coming in from
Tibet flows nearby. Worth visiting are the Leh
Palace, Stoke Palace, Spituk & Leh Monasteries.
Day 17 Leh / Delhi
By Air Leh has an airfield where Airbus lands
- a direct just an hour flight to Delhi .
